Five grant programs under the Queensland Quantum and Advanced Technologies Strategy were launched on June 13, 2024, with a combined AU$53 million (approximately US$35 million) in awards. The programs, detailed in a ministerial media statement, included the AU$20 million Commercialisation Infrastructure Program, the AU$15 million Co-Investment Fund, the AU$10 million Quantum Decarbonisation Mission, the AU$5 million Quantum 2032 Challenge Program, and the AU$3.81 million Talent Building Program.
Grant recipients included Griffith University (AU$7.5 million for the Queensland Microtechnology Facility), the University of Queensland (AU$6.3 million for a National Advanced Photonics Facility), and CSIRO (AU$4 million for integrated photonic chip packaging). An additional AU$6 million in the 2024-25 State Budget supported the Queensland Quantum Academy for quantum education in schools and TAFE.
