Boseraju announced Karnataka’s plans for a USD 100 million Quantum Innovation Fund and a dedicated Quantum City in Bengaluru, with a target of building a USD 20 billion quantum economy by 2035. He drew comparisons to ASEAN cooperation models, suggesting BRICS nations adopt similar collaborative frameworks for quantum deployment.
India assumed the BRICS presidency for 2026, and the discussions took place during a period of increased engagement between Indian state governments and BRICS partner countries on emerging technology cooperation. The meeting addressed quantum applications in areas of shared interest for Global South economies.
