Cyprus Institute Hosts Workshop on Building a Quantum-Ready Cyprus

The Cyprus Institute hosted a workshop titled “Quantum Computing and HPC: Building a Quantum-Ready Cyprus” on November 18, 2025, at its facilities in Aglantzia, Nicosia. According to the event announcement, the workshop was co-organized by the EU-funded QUEST ERA Chair project and the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking project EUROCC-2.

Presentations covered the objectives and architecture of the CYQCI national quantum communication infrastructure, including the integration of QKD links within national terrestrial and space communication systems. Progress on cross-border connections and interoperability within the broader pan-European quantum communication network was also discussed.

Speakers included the QUEST ERA Chair holder Dr. Karl Jansen, the president of The Cyprus Institute, and the director of CaSToRC. Researchers from the CYQCI team also presented on the current state and future plans for Cyprus’s quantum communication infrastructure. The event brought together research organizations, industry stakeholders, and members of the local research community to discuss quantum computing capabilities at the national and European level.
