The National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NUKIB) of the Czech Republic declared its support for the “Position Paper on Quantum Key Distribution” published jointly by the French Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI), the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), the Netherlands National Communications Security Agency (NLNCSA), and the Swedish National Communications Security Authority. According to NUKIB’s announcement, the agency agreed that while long-term research on quantum key distribution (QKD) is desirable, the priority should be the transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) or the adoption of symmetric encryption.
NUKIB noted that it had recently introduced quantum-resistant cryptography to ensure secure communication between web browsers and the NUKIB Portal web application. The agency had also previously prepared supporting materials explaining the nature of the quantum threat and the steps needed in the coming years to address it.
