In November 2022, the European Commission’s Digital Europe Programme funded the launch of DigiQ (Digitally Enhanced Quantum Technology Master), the primary workforce development project of the EU Quantum Flagship. DigiQ received a €17.6 million grant over four years, coordinated by Aarhus University in Denmark, with 24 partners across 10 countries.

According to the Quantum Flagship, the program establishes and expands specialized quantum technology master’s degree programs throughout Europe. Participating students gain access to remote experiments and world-class quantum facilities, specialist courses in hybrid formats, €2 million in travel grants, and a direct route to employment through internships in over 100 European companies and labs.

DigiQ grew out of two community-driven pilot efforts organized under the Flagship’s former education support project, the QTEdu Coordination and Support Action. Innovative teaching resources developed through the project are made available for free across Europe.
