Horizon Europe Allocates €307 Million for Digital Innovation Including Quantum

On January 15, 2026, the European Commission launched two new calls under the Digital, Industry, and Space cluster of the Horizon Europe Work Programme, allocating €307.3 million to digital innovation and competitiveness. Quantum technologies were among the areas covered by the funding.

According to the European Commission, investment in high-performance computing and computing technologies, including quantum, supports Europe’s Digital Decade targets. The funding built upon the European Innovation Council’s investment of approximately €350 million in quantum technology startups between 2021 and 2024, with additional EIC investments of up to €30 million per company prepared through the STEP Scaleup Call.
