On April 14, 2025, the International Council of Quantum Industry Associations (ICQIA) released a joint statement marking World Quantum Day 2025, falling during the United Nations International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ). The statement was published simultaneously by all four member associations.
According to the statement published by Quantum Industry Canada, ICQIA reaffirmed its shared commitment to shaping a future where quantum technologies are developed responsibly, deployed effectively, and made accessible across sectors and regions. The statement said ICQIA supports frameworks and policies that promote the ability for industry to collaborate, establish operations, and do business in countries and regions with shared values, “while taking appropriate measures to avoid misuse.”
Member associations described their collective role as helping to build the foundations of a global quantum ecosystem by strengthening connections across academia, industry, and government and working to identify critical gaps in scalable impact, commercial viability, and long-term societal benefit.
