India and France Sign Cybersecurity Roadmap Including Quantum Cooperation

India and France signed an Indo-French Roadmap on Cybersecurity and Digital Technology on August 22, 2019. The agreement, published on the Prime Minister of India website, included cooperation on quantum technologies among its priority areas.

According to the roadmap, France and India affirmed their wish to expand cooperation in three areas: high-performance computing applied to artificial intelligence, quantum calculation, and exascale computation. Both sides noted the creation of an Indo-French Center of Excellence in Quantum Calculation in Pune. The parties also agreed to evolve programs for participation in emerging technologies including quantum computing.
