The National Quantum Mission (NQM) launched its Call for Proposals (CFP) for setting up Thematic Hubs (T-Hubs) on January 20, 2024. DST Secretary Professor Abhay Karandikar made the announcement on the sidelines of the 9th edition of the India International Science Festival, according to the DST announcement.
Leading academic institutions and R&D centers were invited to submit projects in four critical quantum verticals: quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum sensing and metrology, and quantum materials and devices. The response produced 384 proposals from institutions across India. The CFP marked a major operational step in translating the April 2023 Cabinet approval into institutional infrastructure.
