Bar-Ilan University launched a quantum engineering specialization within its Faculty of Engineering, with the quantum focus beginning in the third year of the undergraduate program. The program was developed in collaboration with the Physics Department under the supervision of Prof. Avi Pe’er, according to Bar-Ilan University’s research portal.

Courses offered include quantum communication and cryptography, quantum machine learning, advanced quantum measurements, light-matter interactions, quantum optics, and quantum computing. Dr. Eliahu Cohen, the program’s academic coordinator, holds a PhD in quantum science from Tel Aviv University with postdoctoral work at Bristol’s Quantum Information Institute and Ottawa’s Centre for Extreme and Quantum Photonics. The university received special funding for a quantum technology lab that allows students to experience quantum technologies directly.
