Kazakhstan Hosts First National Quantum Technologies Conference in Astana

On November 27–28, 2025, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana hosted the first scientific and practical conference titled “Quantum Supremacy: Global Trends and Achievements. Regional Alliance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.” According to a report from the Institute of Information and Computing Technologies, the event brought together members of the scientific community to discuss trends in quantum technology development and prospects for international cooperation.

Doszhan Musaliev, Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, addressed participants and called on the scientific community to pursue joint initiatives in the field. Zhanna Kurmangaliyeva, the university’s Vice-Rector for Science, Commercialization, and Internationalization, also spoke on expanding international scientific cooperation in quantum research.

International participants from Canada, India, Pakistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan attended the conference, which gave particular attention to forming a regional quantum research alliance involving Kazakhstan.
