Lithuanian Quantum Technologies Association Established by Three Founding Institutions

The Lithuanian Quantum Technologies Association (LKTA) was established on November 22, 2023, according to an announcement by the Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC). The three founding members were Vilnius University, FTMC, and the information technology company Novian Technologies.

At the founding meeting, the association approved its articles of association and elected board members for a three-year term. Dr. Tadas Paulauskas of FTMC was elected as the head of the association, and Gytis Umantas of Novian Technologies was elected as president.

Dr. Paulauskas said the association’s priorities included developing science and industry cooperation, strengthening international partnerships, and enabling joint projects. He noted the organization would also promote “high quality studies to train qualified professionals in the field of quantum technologies.” The association serves as a coordinating body bringing together scientific and business organizations working on quantum technology development in Lithuania.
