The Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV), a federally funded public research institution in Mexico, introduced the SpinQ Gemini Lab quantum computing experimental platform to upgrade its quantum education program. According to a report from SpinQ, CINVESTAV launched a plan to build a multi-level experimental system integrating theory, practice, and research.
CINVESTAV, which receives annual funding from the Mexican federal government, structured its upgraded curriculum across three tiers. Mandatory laboratory courses cover quantum phenomena observation and parameter measurement. Elective courses expand into quantum algorithms and control techniques with hands-on hardware workshops. At the advanced level, students use the platform for research projects on quantum computing topics.
SpinQ described CINVESTAV as having “gradually become an innovation hub for quantum computing in Latin America” through its interdisciplinary course offerings. CINVESTAV operates ten research centers across Mexico and is affiliated with the National Polytechnic Institute. The quantum education upgrade represents one of the first deployments of a dedicated quantum computing experimental platform at a Latin American research institution.
