Quantum Latino 2023, described as the largest quantum technology event in Latin America, took place from June 14 to 16, 2023, at Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Campus Santa Fe in Mexico City. The hybrid conference brought together researchers, government representatives, entrepreneurs, startups, and industry collaborators, according to The Quantum Insider’s conference listing.
Day one was dedicated to quantum research discussions, with presentations on advances in quantum technologies across the region. Day two focused on the business side, bringing governmental institutions, investors, and end users together for panel discussions on quantum technology initiatives and the role of Latin America. A third day addressed the broader quantum ecosystem, connecting government, academia, industry, startups, and the general public.
Quantum Latino was first held in 2021, attracting over 1,000 registered attendees, of whom 59 percent were located in Latin American countries. The 2023 edition in Mexico City represented an expansion from its previous locations. The event was organized by QURECA, Quantum South, and the Unconventional Computing Lab, with sponsorship from major quantum technology companies.
