In November 2022, representatives of the Dutch, French, and German governments signed a joint statement committing to strengthen their collaboration on quantum technologies to contribute to European strategic sovereignty. The trilateral Memorandum of Understanding laid the groundwork for a joint program of activities across quantum computing, communication, and sensing.
According to Quantum Delta NL, the three countries identified themselves as the leading EU member states in quantum R&D and startup ecosystems. The signatories stated that quantum technologies are among the few key digital technologies that have emerged in Europe, and that collective effort is required to make Europe a leader in this industry.
