Invest Qatar, the state’s Investment Promotion Agency, signed a strategic agreement with Quantinuum on May 20, 2025, to support the quantum computing company’s expansion into Qatar. According to the official Invest Qatar announcement, the partnership provides Quantinuum with access to key stakeholders, sector-specific insights, and opportunities for collaboration with local innovation and research institutions.

Under the agreement, Quantinuum will launch knowledge-sharing platforms, educational seminars, and technical workshops delivered by its global experts. Joint research projects with Qatari academic and research institutions are planned, along with internship opportunities for students at Qatar-based universities. Invest Qatar will also promote initiatives that drive quantum computing adoption across key sectors in the country.

Sheikh Ali Alwaleed Al-Thani, CEO of Invest Qatar, said the partnership reflects a commitment to positioning Qatar at the forefront of next-generation technologies and supporting economic diversification. The agreement follows the Quantinuum-Al Rabban Capital joint venture announced the previous week during the U.S. presidential state visit.
