On November 7, 2025, a delegation from the Quantum Technology Research Initiative Consortium (QTRic) at Suranaree University of Technology met with the Office of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (OHESDC) at the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. According to the OHESDC announcement, the meeting focused on strategies for strengthening research networks and cooperation in quantum technology between Thailand and the United States.
QTRic’s strategic priorities include quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum materials. The consortium aims to bridge academic research with industrial applications and expand opportunities for domestic and international collaboration. It also supports education and training at the graduate and postdoctoral levels to meet Thailand’s workforce needs in quantum technology.
During the meeting, the QTRic delegation reviewed progress on the Quantum Shore Chicago initiative and the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP). The delegation expressed interest in these developments and had begun forming partnerships with relevant U.S. stakeholders.
