Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), the funding agency under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, endorsed a Thailand Frontier Research Roadmap (2020–2027) that included quantum technology as one of three priority physics platforms. According to a review in the AAPPS Bulletin, TSRI granted financial support to promote frontier research in quantum technology, earth and space systems, and high-energy physics.
Frontier research was incorporated as one of the action plans within TSRI’s policy and strategy for 2021–2027, securing annual budgets through the Program Management Unit system. TSRI’s nine Program Management Units develop their own funding programs across different thematic areas.
By embedding quantum technology within the broader frontier research strategy, the Thai government ensured ongoing budget allocations beyond the initial roadmap announcement. TSRI oversees relevant policies and the research budget for all nine funding agencies in Thailand’s national science system.
