On January 27, 2025, IonQ announced the renewal of its agreement with the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi. According to the press release, the renewed agreement expanded the parties’ January 2023 partnership and incorporated access to IonQ Forte, one of IonQ’s most powerful commercially available quantum computers, featuring 36 all-to-all connected qubits.
Rima Alameddine, Chief Revenue Officer at IonQ, noted that TII had renewed the relationship for the second time in less than two years. Research areas under the renewed agreement included qubit-efficient simulations, quantum image processing, financial portfolio optimization, and materials science.
Prof. Dr. Leandro Aolita, Acting Chief Researcher at QRC and Executive Director of Quantum Algorithms, said the continued work with IonQ enabled TII to stay at the forefront of quantum research. The renewal added to TII’s diverse quantum hardware ecosystem, which also includes in-house superconducting chips and access to platforms via AWS Braket.
