On November 9, 2023, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) announced a formal partnership with France’s Agence nationale de la recherche (ANR) and opened the first joint research opportunity under it for quantum computing hardware and software.
NSERC said Canadian applicants would submit a single collaborative proposal under a lead-agency model, with applications accepted from November 23, 2023, until March 28, 2024. The agency said the partnership would support collaborative projects aligned with the National Quantum Strategy mission on quantum computing, as set out in the NSERC-ANR partnership notice.
