National Research Council records May 2021 launch of Quantum Sensors Challenge program

On February 2, 2023, the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) said in parliamentary briefing material that its Internet of Things: Quantum Sensors Challenge program had launched in May 2021. The briefing note says the program is focused on next-generation quantum sensors and is aligned with Canada’s quantum strategy.

The NRC’s Standing Committee on Science and Research briefing page states that the program was in a ramp-up phase. The related program page says it runs from 2021 to 2028 and is intended to develop quantum sensors for applications that include environment, natural resources, health care, and defence.
