On April 18, 2023, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) announced close to CAD 51 million (~US$38 million) for 75 recipients through Alliance grants and Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) grants in support of the National Quantum Strategy.
NSERC said the package included more than CAD 6 million for eight Alliance Quantum projects, more than CAD 38 million for eight Alliance Consortia Quantum projects, close to CAD 1.4 million for 56 Alliance International Quantum projects, and close to CAD 5 million for three CREATE teams. The agency said the awards would support more than 900 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, according to the grant recipients announcement.
