Countries & Organisations

BRIN’s Research Center for Quantum Physics organized the first international Conference on Quantum Sciences and Technology (ConQuest 2022) in Indonesia, held virtually from November 22 to 24, 2022. According to the conference website, the event served as a platform for researchers to present new insights and exchange ideas on fundamental sciences and applications of quantum-based technologies.

ConQuest 2022 covered topics including foundations of quantum mechanics, quantum matter and fundamental interactions, quantum information and computation, quantum materials and devices, and emerging areas involving quantum sciences. Invited speakers included researchers from the National University of Singapore, the National Institute of Informatics in Japan, and Utrecht University in the Netherlands. A workshop on quantum simulation software using Qiskit and QuTiP was held on the final day.

Proceedings from the conference were subsequently published by AIP Publishing. ConQuest 2022 marked one of the earliest formal international scientific gatherings organized by Indonesia’s newly established quantum research center.
