Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) signed a five-year agreement with IBM to support implementation of Egypt’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2025-2030. According to an IBM press release, the agreement was signed in the presence of Minister Dr. Amr Talaat and IBM executives Saad Toma and Marwa Abbas.
Under the agreement, IBM will deliver training through SkillsBuild, a free education platform. Course offerings include foundational and advanced learning paths in artificial intelligence, along with an introductory course on quantum computing. MCIT will facilitate access to training venues, curate candidate selection, and integrate IBM into national digital transformation events. The program targets 20,000 trainees annually, reaching 100,000 people over five years.
IBM described the initiative as part of its commitment to train two million learners in AI by 2026. The agreement covers skills development for youth, government officials, and ICT professionals across Egypt.
