Indonesia’s National Cyber and Crypto Agency (Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara, or BSSN) held a policy seminar on post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and information security standards on October 31, 2024, at its Sawangan campus in Depok, West Java. According to a report from the Makassar City CSIRT, the event was opened by BSSN Head Hinsa Siburian and broadcast through official BSSN channels.
Prof. Martianus Frederic Ezerman from Nanyang Technological University Singapore presented on PQC developments and their applications for cybersecurity. A panel session addressed BSSN Regulation No. 8 of 2024 on critical information infrastructure protection frameworks, as well as the adoption of SNI ISO/IEC 15408:2022 standards for IT security evaluation in Indonesia. Participants included BSSN officials, representatives from government units, and cadets from the State Signal Polytechnic (Poltek SSN).
BSSN described the seminar as part of its effort to increase awareness of PQC and its role in supporting cybersecurity, including understanding the framework for protecting critical information infrastructure.
