Indonesia’s National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) received a delegation from Malaysia’s Center for Technology and Cryptology Management (PTPKM) in Jakarta in late October 2025 for discussions on bilateral cooperation in cryptography and cybersecurity, with a focus on readiness for the post-quantum cryptography era. According to a report from VOI, BSSN Deputy for Cyber Security Operations Bondan Widiawan said the meeting reflected a shared commitment to technological sovereignty.
Widiawan noted that BSSN had consolidated various information security and cryptographic functions previously spread across multiple institutions and was developing a more coordinated national cryptographic system. Malaysia’s delegation described its own integrated framework, which includes the Malaysian Secure Algorithm List (MySEAL) for trusted algorithms, the Malaysia Cryptographic Analysis and Evaluation (MyCANE) program, and the State Trusted Cryptography Products (PKTN) certification.
Both parties agreed to pursue joint training, expert exchanges, and the preparation of a memorandum of understanding as a basis for long-term cooperation in cryptographic security.
