Countries & Organisations

A Philippine delegation led by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) completed a business-matching mission from January 9 to 14, 2024, generating international partnership opportunities in quantum computing. According to a DOST Technology Application and Promotion Institute report, the delegation formed network connections with IBM, Atom Computing, Q-CTRL, and the Center for Quantum Coherent Science.

DOST expressed interest in pilot testing with Atom Computing’s 1,000-qubit system and in Q-CTRL’s educational quantum computing products. Of the 21 international linkages established during the trip, 12 were with organizations involved in the global deployment of quantum computing technologies.

The mission took place on the margins of the Consumer Electronics Show 2024, where quantum computing was identified as one of the year’s key technology trends. DOST indicated it would explore partnerships for skills development, including potential alternatives to IBM’s Qiskit software development kit and paid quantum network program.
