In November 2024, the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs awarded a grant of over PLN 10 million (approximately USD 2.5 million) to the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) for the creation of educational programs and training courses in quantum computing. According to the PSNC announcement, the grant was to be disbursed by the end of 2025 with the goal of increasing digital competencies in quantum engineering.

Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski commented that investing in quantum technologies represented an impulse for the Polish economy and that the funds would create innovative educational programs to prepare future specialists. Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs Paweł Olszewski highlighted the connection between quantum computing and cybersecurity, noting the potential for analyzing and optimizing security systems.

PSNC had previously become the site for Poland’s first EuroHPC quantum computer, EuroQCS-Poland, which was scheduled for launch in mid-2025. The education grant complemented the hardware investment by building a domestic workforce capable of operating and programming the new quantum infrastructure.
