Singapore’s National Quantum Office (NQO), A*STAR, the National University of Singapore (NUS), the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC), and Quantinuum signed a Memorandum of Understanding on July 23, 2024, enabling access to Quantinuum’s H-Series and Helios quantum computers, according to Quantinuum.
Under the MoU, scientists from A*STAR’s Bioinformatics Institute, CQT at NUS, and Duke-NUS Medical School’s Centre for Computational Biology would use Quantinuum’s machines for modelling complex biological systems, advancing drug discovery, and personalized medicine. The parties also agreed to collaborate on hybrid computing solutions combining classical and quantum computing.
Quantinuum announced plans to establish a dedicated R&D presence in Singapore. The National Quantum Computing Hub, a joint initiative of CQT, A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing, and NSCC, drove the collaboration. The MoU also enabled training and outreach through seminars, workshops, and talent development programmes.
