On February 4, 2025, Canadian quantum security firm Quantropi Inc. announced an exclusive partnership with HIMERA, a Kyiv-headquartered tactical communications developer, to integrate post-quantum cryptographic solutions into HIMERA’s battlefield radio systems. According to the press release, the agreement covers HIMERA’s G1 PRO tactical handsets, R1 repeaters, B1 autonomous repeaters, and E1 internet extenders.

Under the deal, Quantropi’s QiSpace platform will provide quantum-secure encryption and high-entropy quantum random number generation to HIMERA’s systems, which already use AES-256 encryption and frequency-hopping technology. Quantropi will serve as HIMERA’s exclusive distributor in the United States and Canada, with rights to promote the products across NATO and allied markets.

HIMERA’s radios are deployed across most units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and have been validated by the U.S. Air Force and Special Operations Forces. As part of its participation in NATO’s DIANA accelerator program, Quantropi said it would collaborate with HIMERA to test the quantum-secure radios in NATO environments.
